Do you anticipate facing homelessness? Request help HERE

Tips if you believe you will be faced with homelessness:

  1. Keep a mobile device working and tell friends & helpers how to locate you. Make sure you have a charger.

  2. Keep important papers accessible but safe. If you can manage, organize and take photos of these documents and keep them on your phone: 1) gov’t issued picture ID(s), 2) medical card, 3) birth certificate (for children).

Other helpful documents to have at hand: recent paycheck stubs, social security award letter, tax returns, General Relief verification of benefits, unemployment award letter or payment slips, letter(s) from employer(s), bank statement(s) that verify monthly income, at least 2 recent different utility bills.

  3. *NOTE: Try to stay in a hotel room, a friend’s place or in your vehicle. If at all possible, avoid living in a public place or on the streets as this could lead to a higher degree of trauma.
